WE'RE CLOSING DOWN THE US 202 PARKWAY JUST SO YOU CAN BOOGIE DOWN THE BYPASS! Join 1000 runners & walkers at the area's largest & grooviest Spring family friendly running/walking event! The event beneficiary for Boogie Down the Bypass is the Fire Department of Montgomery Township! 100% of the donations go to the Fire Department of Montgomery Township. So, dig out your bell-bottoms & tie dye shirts and practice your DISCO moves because this event is one for the ages! REGISTER EARLY! EVENT WILL SELL OUT 1000 PARTICIPANTS. The Groovy Details: A family friendly 60’s/70’s themed running & walking event for ALL AGES & ALL ABILITIES! Race Date: April 28, 2024. Race Location: Start & Finish ON the US 202 Parkway! Registration/Awards & Afterparty: Kiddie Academy, 1020 Horsham Rd, North Wales, PA. 19454. Boogie Down the Bypass Start Times: Groovy 8K Race starts at 7:30 am. Fab 5k starts at 7:35 am. Can You Dig It Kids Fun Run starts at 7:40 am. Catch you on the flip side 2 Mile Walk starts at 7:42 am. What else can you expect at Boogie Down the Bypass? THE MUSIC! We’ll keep everyone boogieing from start to finish by having 60’s & 70’s music being played at the start & finish and also out on the course! THE SHIRTS! Everyone that registers in time for either the 8k, 5k or 2 Miler will receive a commemorative Boogie Down the Bypass shirt! (shirt deadline is March 12th). EVERY FINISHER GETS ONE! EVERYONE that crosses the finish line will receive a very special huge 3' Boogie Down the Bypass finisher’s medal! AFTER PARTY/COSTUME CONTEST & AWARDS CEREMONY: There will be a 60’s & 70’s themed after-party celebration that will spread so much PEACE & LOVE that you’re bound to leave with a SMILE! Dressing up in your favorite 60’s & 70’s outfit is not a necessity although many will and you are encouraged to do so because there will be special awards for best outfits at the awards ceremony! DOG NOTE: DOGS ARE ALLOWED FOR THIS EVENT…(Both to run & spectate) AS LONG AS THEY ARE LEASHED THE ENTIRE TIME...WE LOVE DOGS!! AWARDS: Overall TOP THREE winners (male & female), plus top three males & females in each age category for 5k & 8k distances: 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 60-69, 70-79, BRAND NEW AGE GROUP: 80-89 (because your 80's and the new 60's!) This means that if it rains (and as long as the temperature isn’t low enough to freeze any surfaces), this event IS A GO…even in the rain….”skin is waterproof” In the event that we experience bad weather such as snow or ice or any weather that would cause the course to be unsafe, we will cancel the event. There will be no refunds due to the fact that at this point all of the expenses for a race of this magnitude have been paid for. It’s important to understand that IF we need to cancel this event due to extreme weather, we will not issue any refunds and although we will try to reschedule the event, we cannot guarantee that that will be possible.
